Where (a lot of) our produce comes from … Marc Michel’s farm in Kilpedder Co. Wicklow

April 27, 2010

Marc Michel’s farm is a mere 45 minutes away from us in Kilpedder Co. Wicklow. He supplies us with nearly all of our veggies throughout the summer and beyond. Some of you may remember his Organic Life cafe from years back. Quite simply, it was ace. I think the fact that he’s such a good cook is what makes him such a brilliant supplier – He knows what we want!!!!

I visited the farm back in March and he had just tilled the fields and was getting ready to start sowing. There really wasn’t a whole lot to see vegwise but from the photos you can appreciate just what a gorgeous place it is.

Marc has been sending me photos and you can see things are really starting to happen down there……..

What a difference!!!

We are going to organise farm visits to Marc’s place over the upcoming weeks and would love it if you came down. If you’ve got kids it’ll be a great way of showing them where their food comes from. Marc reckons that even the  most  stubborn eaters start getting excited about greens when they see lettuce in the fields. Please let us know if you’d like to see the farm and we can start organising things.

you might let me know when the visit is to take place (if it’s not too late), I’ve eaten there on a few occasions and would love to have a real nose around the land, beautiful spot
